NNA Membership with Signing Agent Background Screening

The mortgage industry requires an annual background screening and compliance training for all individuals involved in the lending process — including Notary Signing Agents.

The NNA background screening includes identity verification, residence verification, federal criminal record database search, residence county criminal record search (through court records, not a database), state motor vehicle records search and an Office of Foreign Assets Control (known-terrorist list) check. This comprehensive screening meets the highest lender standards and is far more expansive than other types of screenings. It is therefore recognized and accepted by several of the nation’s leading title and mortgage services companies.

The NNA background screening also eases the burden on Notary Signing Agents who might otherwise have to undergo individual background screenings for each company they work for.

NNA membership is a private association dedicated to maintaining a professional standard of competency for Notary Professionals. Our membership benefits are designed to provide continuous access to the skills, knowledge, and support needed to perform notarial duties to the most up to date and highest standards.

Loan Signing System Signing Agent Certification

Loan Signing System is an American Escrow Association Educational Partner, the premier organization dedicated to further education and professionalism of the escrow industry as a whole. Loan Signing System is not based on theory. It is a hands-on, step-by-step training course and certification based on the most up-to-date, field tested strategies and practices.

Only Texas Residents that have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude may become a Texas Notary. A $10,000 surety bond is required for all licensed Texas Notaries.
